I originally downloaded the demo of this quite a while ago, perhaps during Steam's holiday sale in December. A member of the Legions community recommended it, but I never got around to actually playing it and eventually removed it from my hard-drive. Fast-forward to roughly two weeks ago when this video appeared on Reddit. The video, along with many comments on Reddit praising the game, made me purchase it on Direct2Drive for just $6 thanks to their summer sale(the deal is over, unfortunately). Despite its graphics, Mount and Blade: Warband is an awesome game. Definitely worth the $6 I paid, and easily the regular $30 price tag it has now. The combat is truly unique, and the mod support will make this game last longer than many other games on the market these days. I've been playing it daily since my initial purchase, and have joined a Reddit group to play the Mount and Musket mod every once in a while.
Portal 2

Actually, I'm not playing this game. I've yet to dive into co-op or user-made levels, which should definitely help with longevity. But I have completed the single player campaign, which I found generally enjoyable. There were a few boring parts and not-so-clear challenges, but overall it's a great game. Unfortunately, a game like Portal has very little replay factor so I haven't found myself going back and playing it again. But as I said I haven't checked out the co-op and custom levels. I tried co-op but kept getting disconnected.
Legions: Overdrive

Oh Legions. About a month ago I seemed to really get into Legions after hating the energy system for so long. Something clicked and I found myself playing it daily. I thought we finally came to terms with one another and agreed to be nice with one another. It was a good time to finally get along with the game since the team started to push out new content, including new maps and game modes. However, as of late something has changed. I can't explain what it is(perhaps Mount and Blade stole my interest), but I haven't been playing it nearly as much, nor do I have any urge to. PUG's have apparently been dead for over a week now so I guess I'm not alone. I went back and played it a bit today and it was like deja-vu with the energy system. I just didn't like it.
There's also the community, which I'm getting tired of. The forums don't have anything interesting going on, and perhaps it's just me but there seems to be less activity these days. Several members, even some of the higher-ups, have started to rub me the wrong way. Legions also has this issue of balance, or at least that's what they call it. It seems whenever something new is added to the game, and people start to actually master it, it gets either changed or removed. A while ago they decided to add grenades to the game. Not long after implementation, people started using them to boost them selves off the flag stand.
Now, I always found the hit-box of the grenades to be way too big. 9/10 I'd shoot my own grenades instead of the enemy. I was really hoping they'd at least try making the hit-box smaller, but instead they decided to prevent the flag carrier from throwing grenades. Taking any form of defense away from the flag carrier doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Sure, the typical reaction to this would be 'You're supposed to be looking for team-mates to pass the flag to, not fight other players'. Well, in PUGS this is a perfectly fine argument. In PUBs it is not, considering most, if not all of your team is entirely on the offensive a lot of the time. You're the lone man back at base in this instance, just waiting...hoping...someone will return the flag. /rant
Tribes

As strange as it may sound, I haven't played Tribes in months. With my interest in Legions, along with general tiring of the game, Tribes sort of went on the backburner. I didn't have any urge to play the game. But these past few days I've found myself firing the game up again, though Legions has really messed with my sense of movement. Getting used to more advanced movement, overdrive and downjets has made getting back into Tribes somewhat difficult. Another day or so of playing should sort things out, however.
